1. Good communication skills: Effective communication is a key skill required for telesales as it involves selling products or services over the phone. You should be able to speak clearly, listen actively, use appropriate language, and persuade customers to purchase the product or service.
2. Product knowledge: Having in-depth knowledge of the product or service being sold is essential for successful telesales. You should be able to answer customer questions, address their concerns, and educate them about the benefits of the product or service.
3. Persistence and resilience: Telesales requires persistence and resilience as it can be a challenging job. You may face rejections, objections, or pushbacks from customers, but you should be able to handle them professionally and persistently.
4. Time management: Good time management skills are required to be effective in telesales. You should be able to manage your time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and maximize productivity.
5. Sales closing techniques: Telesales involve persuading customers to make a purchase, and therefore, requires knowledge of sales closing techniques such as creating urgency, offering incentives, and overcoming objections.
7. Effective listening: As a telesales representative, you should be able to actively listen to customers, understand their needs, and respond appropriately.
8. Goal-oriented: Telesales require setting and achieving sales goals. You should be able to set realistic targets, work towards achieving them, and continuously monitor progress.
9. Positive attitude: A positive attitude is essential for telesales as it helps in handling rejections and maintaining motivation.
