Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the supervision of payroll operations across multiple APAC countries. This position typically works under limited supervision and regularly exercises discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provides regional direction regarding payroll policies and departmental collaboration.
- Assures the accurate computation of pay in accordance with company policy and government regulations.
- Direct, supervise and evaluate payroll personnel.
- Manage the relationship with outsourced payroll services providers.
- Evaluate and standardize procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Liaise with HR Department in relation to industrial requirements for differing countries across the region.
- Supervise the preparation and submittal of payroll tax and regulatory reporting to appropriate government agencies.
- Work with all company divisions in the region to coordinate new contractual payroll rules.
- Performs the reconciliation of payroll to labor reports.
- Compile and deliver payroll accounting data for internal and external accounting and compliance teams.
- Provide data and reports for SOX auditing and external auditing requirements.
- Maintains payroll related tables across all software solutions.
- Identify requirements, test solutions and approve system modifications.
- Communicate management objectives to the team and ensure that the efforts of the team are focused on achieving these objectives
- Model high standards of management performance and behavior to serve as a positive role model for others
- Ensure the team is compliant with all legal, regulatory, policy and business requirements
- Ensure direct reports and visitors are aware of and accept their responsibilities regarding WHSE and comply with their obligations
- Ensure WHSE are informed of accidents and where required escalate
- Report all WHSE incidents and potential hazards and other items that are beyond own authority to rectify

General Duties and Responsibilities:

- Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System.
- Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
- Comply with Cubic Security and Data Privacy policies and procedures.
- Comply with Cubic Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Other duties as requested.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications:

- University degree, or equivalent, plus a minimum of five years’ experience in multi-country payroll processing, including two years as a supervisor.
- Two years’ experience working with SAP, ADP and Workday.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

- Strong technical skills which require the validation, troubleshooting and processing of SAP interface files, Workday employee master interface files and GL interface files
- Capable of dealing effectively, diplomatically and courteously with all levels of employees, regulatory authorities and outside agencies.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Sound knowledge and experience in global payroll systems.
- Ability to understand and interpret legislation in differing jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of payroll accounting principles.

- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with employees, and the senior management of the divisions related to payroll production.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and understand business priorities and requirements.
- Hands on supervisor with a focus on attention to detail.
- Able to adapt to change and conflicting demands.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills.
- Dedication to customer service.
- Self-motivated and proactive decision maker, able to work unsupervised without fear of failure.
- Excellent personal time management and priority setting.
- An ability to travel within the region.
