**Team Overview**
The position in discussion is with the Audit team at KPMG Resource Centre Private Limited (KRCPL), which is KPMG’s global delivery center and is an integral part of the firm’s strategy to enhance innovation, build scalability, and improve profitability, globally. KRC Audit is a fast-growing team that is servicing KPMG’s European audit clients and few other countries. The majority of our work is for the UK audit practice, but we are also serving KPMG - Holland, Australia, Cayman Island, Channel Island and Bermuda. We are looking at ways of growing the number of countries we serve.
KRC Business Unit Lead | CLR
The Audit Business Unit Leader in charge will be part of KRC leadership team heading the CLR business which is one of the largest and fastest growing BU having over 500 colleagues with chargeable Managers, Senior Managers and Directors. The individual would be required to implement the audit practice strategy and financial plan which are aligned with the firm’s audit quality initiatives. He/she needs to demonstrate a strong tone and culture supporting audit quality and professionalism through communication, engagement support and commitment to professional skepticism, ethics and integrity.
Position is based out of Gurgaon and the individual will be pivotal in driving the change and successfully delivering both the strategy and the planned growth in CLR team. Responsible for developing key stakeholder relationships and driving KGS Audit service offerings to the UK member firm
Roles and responsibilities
**Portfolio Management**
- Provide reasonable assurance that the business unit complies with the firm’s process for audit client acceptance and continuance and supports the firm’s audit quality objectives
- Determine that Partners and Directors manage the commercial and contractual aspects of an engagement (e.g. fee proposals, budget, fee collection)
- Determine that the business unit has the capacity to manage the audit client portfolio and maintain audit quality, including the required capacity from cross-divisional/ group specialists, as appropriate
- Refuse to take on or continue work in the business unit that does not fit with firm capabilities or risk management criteria
**Resource Management**
- Determine that the business unit has established structures, reporting lines, and appropriate authorities and responsibilities, including assigning operational responsibility for the business unit system of quality management. This will include:
- Determine that the assigned responsibilities for the system of quality management are delegated to colleagues with the appropriate understanding of the role, experience, knowledge and has sufficient time to fulfill their assigned responsibility;
- A direct line of communication to the individual(s) assigned operational responsibility and accountability for the system of quality management
- Put in place professional development and human resource processes in the business unit thatsupport audit quality objectives in accordance with the professional standards and the firms system of quality management. This will include:
- Provision of investments and processes to build the capability of the audit workforce to meet the requirements of regulation and the skills needed for the future
- Effective processes to assign audit partners and professionals with sufficient capacity and ability to engagements in line with the firm’s quality commitments
- Detailed workforce planning in line with the audit client portfolio
- Taking action to support the wellbeing of professionals and ensure auditing is an attractive career option
- Recognizing and rewarding high quality audit work
- The establishment of policies or procedures for the performance management of individual(s) assigned operational responsibility for the system of quality management
