Position Summary:
This is a senior role in both the Global COO Executive and the India Asset Management leadership team and reports to NTAM’s Global Chief Operating Officer.

The role is responsible for managing and driving the on-going development and maturity of the NTAM India operations teams, including supporting planning, organization and direction of the India center and driving operational excellence in the India Practice. This individual will be responsible for partnering with the India and COO leadership team to enhance the Global Operating model. In addition, this role will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to both within the broader NTAM India Practice, overseeing staff and other significant resources for the business unit, and exercising budget and administrative control over planning and project management. Displaying a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business teams to improve efficiency and scale, driving adoption of future focused skills, will be key to driving a shared vision of success and business outcomes.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Lead continued development, design and implementation of NTAM’s target global operating model, executing at the intersection of global, regional and local business demands and best practices
- Collaborate with the NTAM COO organization, businesses and technology to drive the digital and data transformation agenda to achieve scale and excellence while mitigating business and regulatory risk and losses
- Build strong and effective relationships with each of our stakeholders in EMEA, North America and APAC to identify solutions to meet client needs or appropriate actions to address client issues
- Participation in developing and delivering strategic country and business unit plans for India
- Drive strategic initiatives and support the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals
- Provide oversight of the India budget and drive execution of planning processes
- Represent NTAM India in key leadership forums in NT India, APAC region and globally as well as at appropriate industry forums
- Ensure successful execution of key change projects impacting the business, sponsoring key local projects as appropriate; working with risk and compliance to ensure the regulatory change agenda is fulfilled
- Ensuring key metrics reports are prepared and supplied on a regular basis to the business (local, regional and global) and all appropriate committees/boards.
- Drive and champion Northern Trust’s focus on promoting diversity, equity and inclusion
- Lead, develop, and motivate teams to drive growth, client service to internal and external partners, manage exposure to financial, regulatory, and reputational risks, providing leadership, guidance and direct local management for a group of subordinate managers
- Foster an environment which encourages ownership, excellence, employee engagement, teamwork and communication
- Manage human resource and capacity planning while providing proactive and transparent reporting on current and future state capacity for India operations. Develop strategies to attract, retain and grow talent
- Oversee accurate, timely and comprehensive reporting of controls effectiveness and compliance, remediation efforts to Management, 2LOD and 3LOD, legal entity Boards and Regulators, and impacted business units, as applicable
- Oversee implementation, on-going monitoring and governance of global Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Operational Resiliency Framework and third-party oversight of vendors needed to support regional investment process and operations
- Ensure key operational risks are understood and appropriate plans put in place to mitigate and/or escalate to correct forums/committees
- Ensure local business unit resiliency plans are in place and tested accordingly
- Partner across Northern Trust on the development of programs, policies and practices, and corporate/administration services to enhance overall effectiveness of the India center
