Job Description:
1. Teaching:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the IB MYP curriculum framework and school guidelines.

Foster critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and international-mindedness among students.

Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

Incorporate interdisciplinary connections and real-world contexts into social studies instruction.

Facilitate class discussions, debates, and collaborative learning activities to promote active student participation.

2. Curriculum Development:
Develop and adapt curriculum materials, unit plans, and assessments aligned with IB MYP standards and objectives.

Integrate global perspectives, current events, and historical contexts into the social studies curriculum.

Stay updated on best practices in social studies education and incorporate innovative teaching strategies into the curriculum.

3. Assessment and Evaluation:
Design and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and achievement.

Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their learning and growth.

Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and differentiation strategies.

Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

4. Student Support and Enrichment:
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including English language learners and students with special educational needs.

Provide academic and pastoral support to students, including mentoring, advising, and counseling as needed.

Encourage student inquiry, research skills development, and independent learning.

Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as Model UN, history clubs, or field trips related to social studies.

5. Collaboration and Professional Development:
Collaborate with colleagues within the social studies department and across disciplines to integrate learning experiences and promote a holistic approach to education.

Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning sessions, and professional development activities.

Stay abreast of developments in IB MYP education, social studies pedagogy, and educational technology.

6. Communication and Parental Involvement:
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students' progress, behavior, and academic performance.

Respond to parental inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians to support students' academic success and well-being.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

Teaching certification/licensure (relevant to the location)

Experience teaching social studies at the middle years level, preferably in an IB or international school setting

Knowledge of IB MYP curriculum and assessment principles

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Commitment to student-centered learning, inquiry-based instruction, and intercultural understanding

Pay: ₹85,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
