**Job Description Administrative Experience**:
Previous experience in administrative roles, preferably in an academic or research setting, is often sought after. This includes proficiency in office management, scheduling, File/record-keeping, and communication.
**Computer Skills**:
Proficiency in standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential. Additionally, familiarity with database management systems, Multimedia work and academic software used in research environments can be advantageous.
**Organizational Skills**:
Strong organizational abilities are crucial for managing departmental schedules, appointments, and events. The secretary should be capable of multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow within the department.
**Interpersonal Skills**:
Effective communication, additional language proficiency, interpersonal skills are vital for interacting with various stakeholders, including faculty, students, staff, and external contacts. The ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy in all communications is essential.
