**Role Summary**:
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing all procurement and purchasing activities within the group of engineering colleges. The role involves developing procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with policies, maintaining vendor relationships, and optimizing costs while maintaining quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Procurement Planning**:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to the needs of the engineering college.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify and prioritize procurement requirements.
- Prepare annual procurement budgets and monitor expenditures.
- **Vendor Management**:

- Identify, evaluate, and on-board reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate favourable terms and conditions to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and high-quality goods and services.
- **Purchasing Operations**:

- Oversee the purchasing of equipment, materials, and supplies, ensuring they meet the required specifications.
- Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely fulfilment.
- Manage procurement documentation and maintain records for audits and compliance.
- **Compliance and Risk Management**:

- Ensure procurement activities comply with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
- Mitigate risks by monitoring market trends and supplier performance.
- Resolve vendor disputes and manage claims effectively.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Collaborate with store managers to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
- **Reporting and Analysis**:

- Generate regular procurement reports for management review.
- Analyse spending patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.

**Preferred**:

- Experience working with engineering-related suppliers and vendors.
- Familiarity with tendering processes and contract management.

**Salary Range**: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
