Arts Based Facilitator

**SNEHADHARA FOUNDATION-PART-TIME ARTS FACILITATOR (DIRECT CARE)**

**BACKGROUND**:
Snehadhara Foundation (SF) is a registered non-profit organisation based in Bangalore. The pioneers of

Arts Practices for Inclusion, Snehadhara Foundation believes that inclusion is the bedrock of a more compassionate and empathetic society. SF advocates inclusionary spaces where arts practices form the primary methodology of teaching and learning. SF aims to create an environment which welcomes, acknowledges, affirms and celebrates the value of all learners.

Snehadhara in the field of using multi Arts to achieve learning and therapeutic goals with diverse populations. Snehadhara has been recognised worldwide as a pioneer in this space by many international organisation and fora.

The Direct Care facility of SF is the crucible where new techniques are evolved. The most recent effort has been in reimagining the way children with special needs would need to learn just as much or better than the erstwhile physical format. The campus in the outskirts of Bangalore city has also given

Snehadhara the ability to provide a semi-residential format for children with special needs. Weekly programmes for one-on-one sessions for children have resulted in greater learning of life skills and progress towards goals. There has also been an increase in the outreach projects in various government schools, care homes and communities across the city.

**THE REQUIREMENT**:
We are looking at hiring a Facilitator to facilitate, design and build curriculum and content in working with children and adults from vulnerable and special needs populations through one-on-one and group sessions in a part-time format.

**Job Title**:SF - Arts Facilitator (Part-time)

**Reporting to**: Associate Director, Snehadhara Foundation

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work with children at the Snehadhara Direct Care Centre in Nelamangala, using creative methodologies to achieve academic and functional interventions for children with learning disabilities and delayed milestones.
- Create learning experiences for children at the Centre with the objective of meeting vocational goals, livelihood and long-term care giving.
- Work with children at the Snehadhara Foundation centre at Arekere, using creative methodologies to impart academic and functional interventions for children with learning disabilities and delayed milestones.
- Design and conduct one-on-one sessions for children with special needs using multi-arts methodologies, aimed at meeting specific therapeutic goals and learning needs.
- Enable children with special needs to achieve independence and empowerment by building inclusion opportunities.
- Take charge of content design and documentation of the sessions.
- To work towards assessment, evaluation and facilitation of programmes for children with special needs and from vulnerable populations.
- Facilitate workshops and session modules with children.
- Facilitate monthly or bi-monthly sessions at our Nelamangala campus for children and adults enroling in programmes like Sangam, Parenthesis, etc.
- Maintenance of all documents relating to the program including student reports, parent communications etc.

**QUALIFICATION**:

- Graduation or post-graduation in Psychology/Humanities/Social Work. Training in Arts-based therapy or Expressive Arts Therapy will be an advantage.
- Experience in social sector will be an advantage
- Trained in any art form will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Fluency in Kannada will be an added advantage.
- Proven skills in content writing and documentation.
- Good understanding of available technologies including computing skills to ensure effective remote programme delivery and monitoring.
- Passion for working in the development sector and making a difference.
- Passion for working through the Arts and building inclusive spaces.

**Mode of Employment**:Part-time

*Days and timing of employment will be mutually agreed upon and based on the needs of the organization and existing session schedules.

Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
