- Spotify launched in India in 2019 and has since grown rapidly as the preferred audio streaming service for millions of users.
- We are looking for a User & Market Researcher to join our Insights team in India.
- This dual role will focus not just on building a deeper understanding of our users across India, but also try to understand market trends, competition and bring in a more holistic approach to finding opportunity areas for Spotify.
What you will do:
- Uncover insights across user and market to drive user activation, retention and growth for Spotify in India.
- Design, implement and analyze both qualitative and quantitative research across the product lifecycle inform business, marketing and content strategy for Spotify India.
- Conduct or facilitate evaluative and generative research for users across cohorts to enable evidence based decisions.
- Analyze trends and signals across the audio streaming industry and competition in India.
- Proactively identify key gaps in strategy to innovate & improve on the Spotify app basis user and market needs.
- Work with the data science team to triangulate insights across sources.
- Use futures thinking principles to build scenarios for the evolution of the Spotify user.
- Commission and coordinate work with external research partners.
- Set up in-house research processes and systems to enable agile user & market research.
- Conduct deep dives on critical questions regarding user behavior that will shape our thinking on content, product and marketing.
- Partner with global Insights teams to learn best practices and identify areas of collaboration.
Who you are:
- You have 4-7 years of experience in the User Research & Insights space
- You have multiple super powers - ideally exposure across consumer insights, user/product research and secondary research
- You have deep understanding of design research & qualitative methodologies and when to deploy them
- You have basic understanding of quantitative methodologies and are willing to go deeper
- Have a bias for action - delivering useful recommendations versus sharing of information or data. You also go above and beyond to make sure insights are action on
- You have experience working in a startup or in ambiguous fast-paced environment
- You bring passion and playfulness to your work and those around you
- You’re a fantastic communicator and can work cross-functionally with business partners.
