Mold makers are responsible for creating molds that are used to produce a variety of products. They may work with a wide range of materials, including plastics, metals, ceramics, and even wood. Their job is to design and build molds that can be used to create these items in large quantities.

Mold making is an art as well as a science. Mold makers must have a deep understanding of the properties of different materials so they can properly design and construct molds that will effectively shape the material being used.

Mold Maker Job Duties

Mold makers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
Utilizing computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create models of new products for manufacturers to use for creating molds

Identifying materials that are suitable for creating molds depending on the type of product being manufactured

Creating molds by pouring liquid silicone into clay models that have been sculpted by hand or created using computer-aided design (CAD) software

Preparing molds for casting by cleaning them and making sure they are ready to accept the material used to create the object being cast

Maintaining molds in good condition so they can be reused several times without degrading

Adjusting molds as needed during production to ensure they meet specifications for quality and accuracy

Cleaning molds after they are used to ensure they are ready for the next production cycle

Monitoring the temperature of molds to ensure that they are holding steady at appropriate temperatures throughout the casting process

Communicating with other members of the production team to ensure that molds are ready when needed

**Salary**: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
