**Position Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Food Preparation**:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of continental dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Perform basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients.
- Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality and presentation standards.
- **Kitchen Operations**:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Assist in the proper storage and rotation of ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Help set up and break down the kitchen before and after service periods.
- **Team Collaboration**:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and seamless kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie to understand daily tasks and priorities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
- **Learning and Development**:
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques and recipes.
- Seek feedback from senior chefs to improve skills and knowledge.
- Attend training sessions and workshops as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of continental cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate to heavy items.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A culinary diploma or certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
**Working Conditions**:
