**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Sourcing & Supplier Management**:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms to ensure the best value for the company while meeting project requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- **Procurement of Materials & Equipment**:
- Source and procure construction materials (e.g., cement, steel, timber, plumbing fixtures, etc.) and equipment (e.g., machinery, tools) in alignment with project needs.
- Ensure materials and equipment meet required quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Track and manage purchase orders (POs) to ensure accurate and timely delivery to construction sites.
- **Project Support & Coordination**:
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to understand project needs and timelines.
- Manage the timely delivery of materials and equipment to avoid project delays.
- Resolve any issues related to delayed, damaged, or incorrect deliveries in a timely manner.
- **Cost Control & Budget Management**:
- Assist in preparing and monitoring procurement budgets for construction projects.
- Ensure all procurement activities are cost-effective, on budget, and within the agreed timelines.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- **Contract & Compliance Management**:
- Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Ensure all procurement activities follow legal, environmental, and health & safety standards relevant to the construction industry.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements.
- **Inventory Management**:
- Manage inventory levels for materials and equipment across multiple construction sites.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to track material usage and reorder supplies as needed to prevent shortages or project delays.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of materials as per regulations.
- **Reporting & Analysis**:
- Generate procurement reports, track procurement KPIs, and provide insights on material costs, supplier performance, and delivery efficiency.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and report on performance to identify areas for improvement.
- **Collaboration & Communication**:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including project managers, site supervisors, and finance teams, to ensure smooth and efficient procurement operations.
- Address procurement-related issues in collaboration with the legal, compliance, and project teams.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proven track record of procuring construction materials, equipment, and services on time and within budget.
**Skills & Competencies**:
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with construction project timelines and procurement needs.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
**Knowledge of Construction Regulations**:
- Understanding of industry-specific regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements in construction procurement.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in construction is a plus.
**Desirable Skills**:
- Certification in procurement will be value added.
- Experience in procurement or sourcing for large-scale construction projects is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction management software.
