**Job Description: Domain and SSL Specialist**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Domain Management**:

- Register, renew, and manage domain names across multiple registrars.
- Configure DNS settings, including A records, CNAMEs, MX records, and TXT records, to ensure proper domain functionality.
- Manage subdomains and redirects to support business requirements.
- Monitor domain expiration and proactively handle renewals.
- **SSL Certificate Management**:

- Procure, install, and renew SSL certificates from trusted Certificate Authorities.
- Configure and troubleshoot SSL certificates on various web servers and hosting platforms.
- Maintain a certificate inventory and ensure timely renewals to avoid service interruptions.
- **Security and Compliance**:

- Conduct periodic audits to ensure domain and SSL configurations adhere to best practices and organizational policies.
- Implement secure DNS configurations (e.g., DNSSEC) to protect against DNS spoofing.
- Stay updated on SSL/TLS vulnerabilities and recommend proactive measures.
- **Monitoring and Support**:

- Monitor domain and SSL performance and troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and web development teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Provide technical support for domain and SSL-related inquiries.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in domain management and SSL certificate administration.
- Strong understanding of DNS, including record types and configurations.
- Familiarity with SSL/TLS protocols, certificate types (DV, OV, EV), and PKI.
- Proficiency in web servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and hosting environments.
- Experience with automation tools and scripts for SSL and DNS management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices is a plus.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Certification in network or system administration (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Azure, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with DNSSEC, HSTS, and other advanced security measures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
- 5 years of experience in customer-focused, technical support role dealing with both technical and non-technical users.
- 5 years of hands-on experience updating/reviewing domain and SSL certificates for customer facing web sites as well as infrastructure.
