Job Title: Student Relations Manager

Location: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), Uttar Pradesh, India

Job Overview:
The Student Relations Manager at IIT Kanpur plays a pivotal role in fostering positive relationships

between the institute and its student body. This position involves developing and implementing

initiatives to enhance student engagement, satisfaction, and overall experience. The Student Relations

manager serves as a bridge between students and the administration, advocating for student needs and

interests while also ensuring alignment with institutional goals and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
Student Engagement:

- Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and participation in campus

activities, clubs, and events.
- Organize regular meetings, forums, and focus groups to gather student feedback and

suggestions for enhancing the student experience.
- Collaborate with student organizations and committees to support their initiatives and address

any concerns.

Student Support Services:

- Serve as a point of contact for students seeking assistance with academic, personal, or

administrative issues.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution of student grievances and

concerns.
- Facilitate access to counseling, health services, and other support resources for students as

needed.

Communication and Outreach:

- Develop communication strategies to keep students informed about important deadlines,

events, and campus updates.
- Manage communication channels such as newsletters, social media platforms, and student

portals to disseminate information and engage with students.
- Coordinate with the marketing and communications team to promote student achievements.

Alumni Relations:
Foster connections between current students and alumni through networking events,

mentorship programs, and alumni guest lectures.

Facilitate alumni involvement in student activities, career guidance, and fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a master's degree is preferred.

Previous experience in student affairs, student services, or related roles is preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with

diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks

and manage multiple deadlines.

Demonstrated commitment to student success, well-being, and holistic development.

Knowledge of higher education policies, regulations, and best practices related to student

engagement and support services.
