The Company

Our client is a global company in the fintech sector that has just been formed as a JV between two world leaders - one, a global giant in the derivatives space and second, a world leader in financial research and analytics.

The new company is being formed by merging two entities, both of which are highly profitable companies with a combined track record of 80 years. Our client will be creating products that focus on the entire post-trade spectrum of activities in the global financial market. Their existing products will be re-positioned with the latest technologies.

This company will work in the area of derivatives and OTC products, which are the most complex parts of the financial market. The company is laying the foundations of a great culture and the space to build a great organization. Their current objective is to identify individuals who have high expertise, to join their existing team of experts who are spread across the world.
- The Job

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a FinTech that already counts all major investment banks among its clients and has a vast depth and breadth of OTC derivative data.

You will work across multiple self-service and data & analytics platforms to define and deliver solutions that are beneficial to both our internal and external customers. This role presents an excellent opportunity to be part of an agile team based out of India, collaborating with colleagues across multiple regions globally, with a strong focus on delivering value through self-service and data analytics platforms

**What You'll Do**
- Working alongside the Product Owner to drive the self-service and data and analytics roadmaps
- Utilise modern Agile practices, working alongside a range of multi-disciplinary staff
- Use your analysis experience to define epics and user stories for delivery
- Work closely with the project team to deliver high quality solutions
- Identifying and specifying datasets which will be used by financial institutions across the globe
- You’ll interact with a range of technical and non-technical staff to coordinate work effectively and remove blockers and barriers to progress,
- Your Profile

**What You Need to Get the Job Done**
- Prior background as an Analyst in an Agile environment, with a passion for data
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of how relational databases work
- Ability to explore data using core SQL skills (and/or PySpark) as part of your analysis role
- Experience of Agile working practices; epic and user story creation
- Experience working with users and stakeholders to define requirements and translate into technical design
- Experience writing technical specifications
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

**Desired Skills**
- Experience working with data products and a good understanding of data concepts including Data Management, Data Quality and Data Science
- Some experience modelling data
- Experience with data visualisation technologies (One of QlikSense, Powerbi, Quicksight, Tableau or similar)
- Knowledge of financial markets, specifically interest rates and other OTC derivatives
- Experience designing data catalogs and an understanding of metadata, data curation, lineage etc.
- Experience with AWS or other public cloud data processing services
- Experience with Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), feature files
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Python/PySpark experience
