Roles and Responsibilities:
The Foundry Melt Supervisor is responsible for the quantities of molten metal to a high specification in line with the Foundry daily and weekly casting programme whilst managing a team of Furnaceman and Ladlemen.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To assess and oversee furnace/ladle repairs
- To have quality control of molten metal in accordance with laid down technical specifications
- Responsible for all aspects of health and safety for all activities
- Carry out risk assessments and complete standard operating procedures
- To understand Company policies and procedures
- Supervisor manpower, manage and motivate team of operators
- Measurement and assessment of cycle time achievement
- Producing reports for Senior Management
- Project improvement work
- Carry out employee appraisals, reviews, disciplinary, grievance and absence management cases
- Monitor performance of team, coach and support where performance is not at required standard
- To assist in recruitment of team members, identify manpower requirement and assist in redeployment where resource is required
- Identify training needs and organise the delivery of on the job skills and safety training
- To complete shift paperwork
- To operate within the departments budgeted expenses
- Ensuring best manufacturing practices are maintained and continuously improved
- To assist with production as necessary
- Coordinate production start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers
- Ensure that all hygiene, health and safety regulations are being observed by staff
- To carry out any reasonable request as directed by the Foundry Manager.
