
Medical Receptionist

**Job Summary**:
The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service both in person and over the phone. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring the smooth flow of patient visits within the clinic or medical office.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally
- Answer phone calls, route calls, take messages, and provide accurate information
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using electronic medical records (EMR)
- Register new patients and update existing patient information
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals
- Collect co-pays, payments, and issue receipts
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with forms and supplies
- Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize patient flow and minimize wait times
- Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and empathy
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting (preferred)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy laws
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Rotational shift
- Weekend availability
