**Job Summary**
The Legal Executive will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to the institution, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, drafting and reviewing legal documents, handling disputes, and liaising with external counsel. The role involves protecting the institution's legal interests and advising management on legal matters that impact the organization's operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Legal Advisory & Compliance**:
- Provide legal advice on institutional policies, procedures, and operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., labor laws, education laws, intellectual property laws).
- Stay updated on laws and regulations impacting the education sector and advise management accordingly.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies such as UGC, AICTE, CBSE, or other relevant boards or councils.
- **Drafting & Reviewing Legal Documents**:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MoUs, agreements, partnership deeds, and other legal documents with vendors, service providers, and external stakeholders.
- Prepare documentation for property leases, service agreements, and funding arrangements.
- **Dispute Resolution & Litigation**:
- Represent the institution in legal disputes, negotiations, or mediations, and manage external counsel if required.
- Handle disputes related to students, faculty, staff, or third parties, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor and track litigation cases, providing regular updates to management.
- **Contract Management**:
- Maintain and manage records of all legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and licenses.
- Ensure the timely renewal of contracts, licenses, and registrations.
- **Policy Formulation & Internal Governance**:
- Assist in the formulation, revision, and implementation of institutional policies and regulations.
- Ensure all policies are legally compliant and aligned with the organization’s goals.
- **Risk Management**:
- Identify legal risks and suggest mitigation strategies to safeguard the institution’s interests.
- Conduct risk assessments for institutional projects, partnerships, and initiatives.
- **Liaison & Representation**:
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and external legal counsels on legal matters.
- Represent the institution in external audits, investigations, and compliance reviews.
- **Training & Awareness**:
- Conduct awareness programs and training sessions for staff and management on legal aspects, compliance requirements, and institutional policies.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- **Educational Qualifications**: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) is preferred.
- **Experience**: 1-3 years of experience as a Legal Executive or in a similar legal role, preferably within the education sector or a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with education laws, employment laws, intellectual property, and contracts is an advantage.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using legal and office management tools/software.

- Flexibility to handle urgent legal matters outside regular office hours if necessary.
