The South Indian Cook is responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes, ensuring high-quality taste, presentation, and hygiene standards. The role involves expertise in traditional South Indian cuisines such as Idli, Dosa, Vada, Sambhar, Rasam, Curries, and regional specialties, while maintaining consistency and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook authentic South Indian dishes as per menu and guest preferences.
- Ensure proper use of traditional spices, cooking techniques, and recipes to maintain authenticity.
- Plan and organize mise en place for daily operations.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen.
- Monitor portion control and minimize wastage.
- Assist in planning menus, special dishes, and festival-themed cuisines.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service.
- Check inventory of South Indian ingredients (rice, dals, spices, etc.) and update requirements.
- Train junior staff in South Indian cooking techniques.
- Adhere to hotel/restaurant quality standards and customer satisfaction goals.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a South Indian Cook in hotels, restaurants, or catering.
- Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisines (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Kerala specialties).
- Ability to prepare both vegetarian and non-vegetarian South Indian dishes.
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and HACCP guidelines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and festivals.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
