The South Indian Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of authentic South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, sambhar, chutneys, and curries. The role involves maintaining quality, taste, and hygiene standards under the guidance of senior chefs.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of South Indian dishes including breakfast and main course items.
- Prepare batters, chutneys, and accompaniments as per standard recipes.
- Maintain consistent taste, quality, and presentation in all dishes.
- Ensure mise-en-place is ready before each service.
- Support the CDP or DCDP in daily kitchen operations.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Properly label and store food items to maintain freshness and quality.
- Clean and maintain workstations, equipment, and utensils.
- Minimize food wastage through proper portion control.
- Assist in receiving and storing raw materials.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma / Certificate in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
- 1-3 years of experience in South Indian cuisine in a hotel or restaurant.
- Knowledge of authentic South Indian dishes and ingredients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
