**Project Description**:
The purpose of the USAID India Plastics Pollution Activity is to further advance public and private sector capacity to improve solid waste management, identity innovations in plastic recycling, and reduce demand for single-use plastic, all with the end goal of reducing ocean plastic production.

Position Description

The COP will be based in New Delhi, India, and will report to the RTI Home Office.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Ensure high quality project performance and budget management.
- Lead planning, oversight, and coordination of all project activities and personnel, operational and technical.
- Ensure all project deliverables exceed expectations and are managed within budget.
- Manage client relations and serve as primary liaison with the client and stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and oversight for areas such as Finance, Operations, Reporting, Communications, and Human Resources. Liaise with Regional Office and business partners per policy and practice.
- Ensure management systems are operational to track expenditures (including labor) and monitor same against the Activity work plan and budget, according to both company policy and client standards/regulations.
- Support an activity culture, environment, and workplace that provides a high level of staff morale, retention, and development.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree and 15 years of experience, Master's degree and 12 years of experience, PhD and 8 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience and expertise leading programs of similar size and complexity for USAID or other international donors.
- Prior work experience related to ocean plastics pollution reduction, strengthening solid waste management systems and practices, community and/or private sector engagement on environmental issues, and/or past experience in other Activity focus areas.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of large international donor programs working with counterparts at various levels of government, private sector leaders, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Prior experience managing projects with large grants components.
- Demonstrated skills in building, mobilizing, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and with multiple concurrent demands.
- Knowledgeable of and experienced with international development contracting policies and procedures, specifically USAID.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Experience working in India is strongly preferred.
