Veeam Backup Administrator

Role & responsibilities
- Extensive experience on Veeam Backup and recovery, Veeam backup failure, Veeam back up configuration.
- Performing backup monitoring, diagnostics, complex root cause analysis and implement corrective measures to prevent future service interruptions.
- Manage online data backups and the overall execution of retention policies.
- Backup performance fine-tuning and media management.
- Understanding the client requirement and design the solution.
- Installation and upgrade activity having good knowledge on backup configuration and implementation.
- Upgradation activity on Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for interaction with a global team.
- Work independently with mínimal supervision normally receiving mínimal instruction with a global team.
- Monitor and respond to alerts and incidents related to Windows servers, network devices, and infrastructure components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues related to Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
- Perform advanced network troubleshooting, including analyzing network traffic, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing performance.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN configurations.
- Resolve incidents with in respective SLA's
- Assist with the design and implementation of network infrastructure projects, such as network upgrades and migrations.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent solutions to prevent future incidents.
- Collaborate with Level 1 NOC Engineers and other teams to provide guidance, mentorship, and escalation support.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and procedures followed in our ticketing system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies and best practices in Windows server administration and networking.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in Windows server administration and networking.
- Proficiency in Windows server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2012/2016/2019) and Active Directory services.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.), and network security principles.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
- VMCE (Veeam Certified Engineer - VMCE) would be an added advantage.
