**About the Role**

We are seeking a meticulous and creative **Story and Art Curator, Archivist, and Library Designer** to spearhead the design and development of a comprehensive library and archive for _Going to School in India_. This role involves reading, curating, and cataloguing over 300 illustrated storybooks, graphic novels, scrapbooks, and archival video footage for print, online, and national television programs. You will work closely with designers and artists to create an engaging and functional internal system and an external library accessible to millions of young learners.

- Going to School in India_ is a storytelling and education initiative featuring vibrant, illustrated books, graphic novels, films, and TV episodes that inspire children across India to imagine and create their futures. Our programs include _Be an Entrepreneur_, _Get a Plan_, _Map of Me: A Girl's Guide to 21st Century India_, and _The Children’s Scrappy News Service_. Each program spans print, digital, and broadcast media, and your work will ensure these stories are preserved and presented for maximum impact.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Content Curation and Archiving**

Read, analyse, and curate detailed synopses of over 300 illustrated storybooks, graphic novels, and scrapbooks.

Watch and log a month of archival video footage, including films, TV episodes, and interviews.

Identify and document key themes, skills, and educational outcomes in all materials.

Create a centralized system to catalog metadata for each piece, including page numbers, language, author, artist, and medium.

**Library Design and Development**

Design an internal print-based library system for use in schools across India.

Develop an accessible and visually engaging online library for wider dissemination.

Work closely with designers, artists, and developers to conceptualize and implement a cohesive library design that aligns with _Going to School’s_ creative vision.

**Editorial and Communication Leadership**

Lead the editorial process for summarizing and mapping content across multiple formats: print, video, and online.

Collaborate with creative teams to ensure all content is communicated effectively for diverse audiences.

Establish clear systems for managing and sharing the archive across multiple projects.

**Collaboration with Artists and Designers**

Partner with illustrators, graphic designers, and digital artists to integrate visual storytelling elements into the library design.

Ensure the archive reflects the artistic richness and diversity of _Going to School’s_ programs.

**Cross-Media Expertise**:
Manage content spanning multiple formats: video, photos, print, and digital.

Ensure seamless alignment between offline and online archives, creating a unified experience for users.

**Storytelling and Curation Expertise**:
Deep experience in curating stories, art, and multimedia content.

Strong editorial skills with the ability to synthesize complex narratives into concise, compelling entries.

**Design and Organization Skills**

Proven experience designing and implementing library systems, archives, or databases.

Familiarity with cataloguing tools, content management systems, or archiving software.

Strong aesthetic sensibility and the ability to collaborate effectively with artists and designers.

**Media and Content Experience**

Experience working with illustrated books, graphic novels, film, and video content.

Knowledge of multimedia storytelling and cross-platform content management.

**Attention to Detail and Patience**

Meticulous approach to reading, logging, and cataloguing content.

Ability to manage large volumes of material while maintaining accuracy and quality.

**Collaboration and Communication**

Strong interpersonal skills for working with artists, designers, and developers.

Ability to communicate ideas clearly and align stakeholders on project goals.

**Qualifications**

Background in library sciences, curation, literature, design, or a related field.

Experience in educational or storytelling-focused projects is a plus.
