**Job Overview**

As kitchen assistant - you are effectively the engine room of the kitchen. Working under the guidance of a kitchen supervisor, your job is to ensure that the kitchen is clean and operational. In some kitchens, you may also be involved in preparing ingredients, so it’s a great stepping stone to becoming a chef. To be successful as a kitchen assistant, you should exercise exceptional time management and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner. Ultimately, an outstanding Kitchen Assistant should be able to comply with all food health and safety regulations.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Checking and ensuring attendance of all the Helpers.
- Ensuring all the Helpers are doing jobs allocated to them strictly following the set processes and maintaining timeline of shift readiness.
- Checking all the items in fridge and ensure no spoiled or about to spoil item is used in production.
- Ensuring preparations for production (settings) are ready in all respect before 12 Noon for Lunch shift and before 7 PM for dinner shift.
- Ensuring and delivering production support like, cutting, chopping, washing, boiling, frying ingredients (Vegetable, Meat, Paneer etc.), grinding of masala, base gravy etc. required for dishes with superior standard with consistency and uniformity as per the guidance of Chef.
- Preserving all the excess items in refrigerator or otherwise after cooling and covering adequately.
- Training/handholding all the Helpers to ensure preparation production quality, look, taste, fragrance and portion size of food as per the set standard. This includes, identifying the capabilities/potentials of people and develop them accordingly for higher responsibilities.
- Also training all the Helpers on multiple tasks to create back up in each position to help smooth operations, especially during crisis/shortage of manpower situations.
- Cost control ensuring quality and taste of the set standard.
- Strictly Minimizing all types of wastage.
- Ensuring kitchen hygiene at all time.
- Strictly maintaining discipline of himself as well as subordinates / juniors inside Dhaba at all time.
- Ensure proper handling of Chulha/Gas Line/ Kitchen/Electrical equipment inside the kitchen for smooth functioning and update immediately on requirement of any repair or preventive maintenance.
- Deep cleaning of kitchen including kitchen equipment’s once in a week and/or as and when required.

**Requirements & Skills Set**
- Good health condition.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items properly.
- Demonstrated interest in food preparation and kitchen operations.

**Salary**: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
