**Job Profile of a Social Work Counsellor**

As a social work counsellor, your primary role is to provide support, guidance, and assistance to individuals, families, or groups who are facing various challenges in their lives. Here are some key aspects of your job:
**Assessment**: You'll assess clients' needs, strengths, and resources to understand their situations comprehensively. This involves gathering information through interviews, observations, and assessments.

**Counselling**: You'll provide counselling and psychotherapy to help clients address emotional, behavioural, or interpersonal issues. This may involve individual, family, or group therapy sessions.

**Advocacy**: You'll advocate for clients' rights and access to resources. This could include helping them navigate social services, legal systems, or healthcare systems.

**Case Management**: You'll coordinate services and resources for clients, ensuring they receive comprehensive support. This might involve collaborating with other professionals and agencies, such as healthcare providers, schools, or government agencies.

**Crisis Intervention**: You'll provide immediate support and intervention during crises or emergencies, such as domestic violence situations, suicidal ideation, or natural disasters.

**Education and Prevention**: You'll educate clients and communities about social issues, mental health, and strategies for self-care and prevention. This could involve conducting workshops, trainings, or outreach programs.

**Documentation and Evaluation**: You'll maintain accurate records of client interactions, assessments, and progress. Additionally, you'll evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and treatment plans.

**Ethical Practice**: You'll adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in your interactions with clients and colleagues. This includes maintaining confidentiality, respecting clients' autonomy, and avoiding conflicts of interest.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
