**Role Purpose**:

- Responsible for managing Purchasing Activities in the Line Company -Indirect Materials. Responsible for the sourcing of products and local suppliers (CG0) for commodities that are not managed centrally (typically outsourced manufacturing/subcontracting) and require local knowledge and coordination with the plant manufacturing variable capacity and outsourcing strategy.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Purchasing of indirect materials, Capex and services in line with organizational goals with specified cost and quality by ensuring EHS and statutory norms.
- Act as an effective interface between suppliers, internal customers and other related departments in resolution of problems and streamline the process.
- Identify right vendor’s, float RFQ and invite quotes. To work closely with vendor’s, users in strengthening RFQ’s and freezing specifications as and when required.
- To co-ordinate and act as a better support along with vendor’s and end user’s/stores / SCM/Finance in case of any issues in supplies or payments.
- To monitor market trends, bench marking costs, constructing required cost structures.
- To do business / cost analysis, for identifying potential opportunities for savings in close communication with end users.
- Prepare reports, keeping MIS on required KPI’s of Cost savings, Payment term targets.
- Periodic review on performance development in line with continuous self and business improvements.
- Prepare, raise purchase orders, Contracts, SLA’s etc.

**Specific Accountabilities**
- Interface with and support Driveline CPD/CPM for global stratergy implementation
- Interact with suppliers to obtain information pertaining to product, price, service and ability of supplier to Supply product at a specified delivery date
- Maintain records pertaining to items purchased, costs, delivery and product performance
- RFQ managements for regular requisitions
- Monitor the purchasing activities to achieve the highest level of performance
- Use purchasing tools to establish scrap sale agreement
- Continuously reduce spending - meet Material cost reduction (MCR ) target
- Sourcing qualified domestic and overseas suppliers as per GKN WOW.
- Follow up orders, Ensure material arrive on time, Improve suppliers OTD, shorten lead time
- Suppliers spend analysis & Supplier relationship mgmt
- Follow up the material price tendency, minimize the sourcing risk.
- Good knowledge for MRO Items, electrical ,Mechanical, IS-IT, transport, consumables ,packaging etc
- Monthly spend monitoring against Budget.
- Work in MFG PRO(QAD)

**Authorized for -**
- Potential supplier selection.
- Floating RFQ to potential suppliers.
- Negotiations with suppliers.
- Prepare purchase orders in ERP System

**Formal qualifications required**:

- University degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical/electronic Engineering.

**Previous experience required**:

- 8-12 years’ experience in purchasing management
