**Job Location**:

**Job Purpose**:
**Responsibilities**:

- **Database Management**: Install, configure, and upgrade database systems, including but not limited to MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or NoSQL databases.
- **Monitoring & Optimization**: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements for optimization and efficiency.
- **Security**: Manage data security, encryption, backups, and access control, ensuring that all databases meet security and compliance requirements.
- **Backup & Recovery**: Develop, implement, and manage backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and continuity.
- **Troubleshooting**: Identify and resolve database issues, including performance problems, connectivity issues, and data inconsistencies.
- **Capacity Planning**: Analyse database growth and recommend scaling solutions for storage and performance.
- **Documentation**: Create and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to design and implement database strategies, schemas, and solutions.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle etc.).
- Strong understanding of database structure, theories, principles, and practices.
- Experience with database security, backup, and recovery.
- Proficiency in SQL and database programming languages.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with data management and data governance practices.
- Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with database automation and scripting.
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization.

**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

**Total Experience**:
3-5 Years

**Relevant Experience**:
5 Years
