In the Managed Services Department, customers count on us to keep their open source databases running and we are vital to the success of their business. With 24/7 support of world-class DBAs, we are able to deliver the highest quality support to customers around the world. From incidents and outages handling through a variety of projects executions to proactive recommendations for environments’ improvements - These are our objectives that aim at customers’ satisfaction and translates to customers’ business results.

**What You Will Do**
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues of moderate complexity related to their PostgreSQL environments
- Develop relationships with customers, comprehend and fulfill their needs, and maintain their satisfaction through regular communication and engagement with their environments
- Perform technical work that requires planning and scheduling to ensure the best possible solution is delivered on time
- React on incidents and provide solutions aimed at maintaining environments’ stability, performance, and scalability
- Work in a fast-paced environment where we are responsible for companies’ most critical systems
- Work remotely; there is no central office, and most people work from their homes. Some travel for team meetings is required.
- Participate in on call rotation to support our customers 24x7x365 for any operational issues that may arise
- Communicate with our customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner
- Provide constructive feedback, both internally and externally, with the aim of continually improving

**What You Have Done**

Technical skills:

- 4+ years experience working with PostgreSQL Databases, including all aspects of installation/configuration, performance tuning, etc.
- Advanced understanding of Linux OS.
- Ability to use SSH to connect to remote systems with password & public/private keys.
- Deep understanding of systems performance.
- Understand automation concept to speed up the work(Ansible).
- Advanced knowledge on PostgreSQL internals.
- Experience implementing high availability by setting up either streaming replication or logical replication and decoding.
- Knows how to optimize queries/schemas.
- Knows backup solutions and strategies.
- Knows HA solutions and strategies.
- Knows pooler/proxy usage as it relates to PostgreSQL.

Non Technical Skills:

- Is able to individually assess customer/environment impact.
- Executes approved change management implementation plans.
- Follows the incident handling process.
- Addresses problems by following run-books.
- Good written English language.
- Write a technical report on tasks performed.
- Ability to work well with people and communicate effectively both internally and with customers.
- Ability to communicate information to staff members and customers in a clear and concise manner.
- A desire to learn and grow your knowledge of DBMSs.
- The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
- A desire to contribute to improving our operations.

- Experience with PMM.
- Kubernetes expertise.
- Cloud and DBaaS experience.
- Systems and network administration knowledge.
- Experience in a managed service provider model.
- Experience working with GitHub and shared repositories.
- Experience and knowledge of Python or C/C++ languages.
- Experience in working with Ansible.
- Experience with MySQL or Mongo.

**Working Hours**

Working hours depending on the time zone ( in UTC ). **_This position is for the APAC shift._** Mandatory shift hours (+2 hours extra that may be served before or after the mandatory shift hours).
- APAC shift - 12:30 am -6:30am
- EMEA shift - 6:30am - 12:30pm
- US East shift - 12:30pm - 6:30pm
- US West shift - 6:30pm - 12:30am

Each team member has an on-call duty during the weekends - 12h on Saturday and 12h on Sunday once a month. Some flexibility in availability is required for internal meetings.
