**Role**:Senior Database Administrator

**About the Role**:
We are looking for a self-motivated and independent thinker who can contribute to our database team as a DBA on Postgres. In this role you will work on Azure hosted PostgresSQL database and be responsible for managing firm's PostgreSQL database. As a DBA, the person hired has to database runs smoothly, with no surprises to ensure business goals are achieved. DBA has to ensure ways to optimize the performance of the database, create backups that come in handy for efficient running of ecosystem, and monitor security and access.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Monitor the performance of the database and ensure optimum performance.
- Maintain database schema
- Manage database availability
- Create the objects in the database, such as triggers, indexes, etc.
- Identify potential issues in the database to solve them independently and early.
- Maintain backups and perform disaster recovery in case a disaster destroys the database.
- Experience of streaming replications
- Monitor security and prevent any unauthorized access to the database/ Role management and access management.
- Schedule consistent maintenance on the server
- Give best practice guidance to the development team
- Resolve any production data issues
- Tablespace management
- Knowledge of SQL Programming, fundamental Linux commands
- Develop automation technologies to accelerate the process of data loading.
- Develop relational databases
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality.
- Worked on ETL tools like PGCopyDB, PGDumpAndRestore etc.

**Skills and Expertise**:

- Minimum 5 Years of Experience as a DBA
- Experience with Data administration, monitoring and maintaining databases. on PostgresSQL on Azure cloud.
- Ensure smooth functioning, and monitor PostgreSQL database security
- Experience in optimize the performance of the PostgreSQL database
- Build, maintain, configure, and repair PostgreSQL open-source databases
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

**Qualification**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent OR MCA

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹1,800,000.00 per year
