The Consultant II creates basic database structures for medium to large projects, provides support in the day to day operational management of Database Technologies and aids in software maintenance lifecycle management with assistance. The individual assists with database performance tuning and consultation, database configuration implementation, creates and maintains scripts and test plan execution.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Installs/creates low complexity database based on established documented procedures
- Assists and in some cases lead root-cause analysis on minor incidents; participate with DBMS vendors and others to determine causes and solutions for database problems/issues
- Installs client tools and drivers based on established documented procedures; assist with installing and maintaining database tools/utilities to support the DBMS environment

**Education**:

- 4 year Bachelors Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- 5 or more years of experience (preferred)

**Supervisory Responsibilities**:

- This job does not have supervisory duties.

**Education & Experience (in lieu)**:

- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
