**About the magazine**

Champak is the most-read Indian children's magazine, which has been nurturing children with enriching, educative and wholesome content since 1969. It is published in 8 languages and is read by more than 43 lakh* readers across India(*IRS 2017). The magazine is read both digitally and in print.

**Role & Responsibilities**:

- Own and execute a delightful, web, mobile and digital experience of Champak Magazine. Understands and executes web content daily on website. Is well versed with Analytics and is responsible for bringing out fun and engaging content through content calendars.
- Build relationships with team members.
- Work with the design team for coherence and continuity of web and print magazine. Supervise visual layout of content.
- Regularly check and track content for accuracy.
- Edit, proofread and suggest improvements to written content.
- Work in a multidisciplinary team of web designers, marketing executives and illustrators.
- Adhere to SEO rules.
- Audience data: What type of content is the audience looking for?
- Market data: What type of content is missing from the current landscape?
- Competitor data: What works well (and what doesn’t work) for competitors?
- Current performance data: What is currently working and not working for the strategist’s company/client?
- Keep abreast with new trends in web technology.
- Working towards adding a paywall on the website for exclusive content.
- Strategising publishing dates for paid content and promote the same on social media.
- Overseeing writing projects to ensure accurate information and clear stories.
- Works with freelancers to get content.
- Work with the Video Editor for uploading content on Youtube and making captions that are related to the brand content.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors and masters in social sciences ( History/ literature/ Political Science) and Masters in journalism, communications or similar relevant field.
- Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills.
- Experience with software such as InDesign, Photoshop.
- In-depth knowledge of best SEO practices and tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Creative thinker and problem solver.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Has a knack of understanding how audiences consume content on digital platforms like Youtube, Web, Social medial and Mobile.

**Reporting To**:

- Managing Editor and Associate editor.

**Taking Report From**:

- Graphic Designer, Web manager, social media.

**Collaborating With**:

- Print, Web and All the people producing web, digital and print content for magazine, marketing and books for the brand.
