Job Description: Bakery Staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Baking: Prepare a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts, following recipes and quality standards.
- Mixing and Preparation: Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, ensuring consistency and accuracy in product preparation.
- Oven Operation: Operate baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and other machinery, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and presentation, making adjustments as needed to meet standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Keep work areas clean and organized, following food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient customer service, assisting customers with inquiries, orders, and special requests.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other bakery staff members to coordinate production schedules, share responsibilities, and support a positive work environment.
- Training and Development: Continuously seek opportunities for learning and skill development, staying current on baking techniques and industry trends.
- Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations, including health and safety standards and food handling guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Baking Skills: Basic knowledge of baking techniques and methods, with the ability to follow recipes accurately and produce consistent results.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of bakery operations.
- Teamwork: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet customer demand.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Food Safety Certification: A valid food handler's permit or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
