**Key Responsibilities**:
System Monitoring:
Monitor and ensure the proper operation of computer systems (servers, mainframes, network devices) and peripherals.
Check system logs to ensure no errors or malfunctions.
Perform routine backups and ensure data is secure.
Hardware and Software Maintenance:
Operate and maintain computer hardware and software systems.
Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, or network failures.
Install and configure new software and hardware as required.
Job Execution:
Execute scheduled jobs and batch processing tasks.
Run system reports and process data based on predefined schedules.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure system tasks are completed on time.
Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
Identify and resolve issues related to system performance, network connectivity, and peripheral devices.
Provide basic technical support to end users, assisting with issues related to software or system access.
System Security:
Ensure all computer systems are secure and comply with internal security policies.
Monitor access to sensitive data and ensure password and access management protocols are followed.
Documentation:
Maintain logs of daily system activities, issues, and resolutions.
Document standard operating procedures for operating systems, networks, and backups.
Communication and Reporting:
Report any irregularities, failures, or critical issues to the IT management team.
Coordinate with external vendors or service providers when necessary.
Backup and Recovery:
Perform regular backups of critical system data.
Participate in disaster recovery operations, ensuring that all data is recoverable in case of system failure.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Proficient with computer hardware and software.
Experience in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Unix.
Familiarity with network systems, including LAN/WAN protocols and troubleshooting.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous in monitoring system performance and ensuring all tasks are completed as scheduled.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical team members and escalate issues when necessary.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple job processes simultaneously.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (A degree in computer science or a related field is preferred).
Previous experience in a computer operator or IT support role is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Typically work in an office environment, with standard business hours, though on-call or night shifts may be required depending on the organization.
Work may be required during weekends or public holidays in some cases.
