This role is responsible for developing operations to produce a high quality service at the lowest possible cost. This position will be responsible for leading and managing a team, setting priorities and targets ensuring activities are co-ordinated and supporting the overall business plan and strategy. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective team through selection, training and motivation.
**Responsibilities**:
Meet and exceed operational budgets within agreed timescales, while improving or maintaining current margins, to be achieved by monitoring, measuring and reporting all operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements and providing progress reports to immediate manager on a monthly basis.
Plan, direct and control all import activities on a day-to-day basis.
Manage and develop direct reporting staff, in conjunction with performance appraisals, focus on training requirements and general development to meet business needs
Recruit department staff in accordance with HR policies and budgeted headcount ensuring establishment and maintenance of job descriptions.
Plan and manage departmental activities ensuring staffing levels are adequate for business fluctuations.
Provide effective communication and training with all direct reporting staff to ensure WIT policies and procedures relating to health & safety, security, hazardous and operational procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times.
Develop constructive relationships with key customers and key offices, resolving any concerns and ensuring corrective action is taken.
Maintain effective communication and relationship with overseas agents.
Control import checks.
Identify and provide early warning of likely issues and problems that could have an adverse effect on deadlines, and where possible, develop solutions to reduce the impact.
Liaise where appropriate with customer service and sales departments to resolve any conflicting issues raised by customers and/or figures.
Review and update operational procedures on an ongoing basis in line with company procedures, ensuring that all such changes are communicated to staff ensuring that any training requirements are fully met.
Take overall responsibility for processing insurance claims in line with company procedures.
Monitor incoming mail and highlight potential problem areas to relevant staff, delegating as appropriate.
Communicate customer products and needs to warehouse staff ensure they have a clear understanding at all times.
In accordance with accounts procedures, take ownership of all accounting issues and queries, liaising with both the accounts and administration departments, provide support and authorization for all queries in relation to:
Sales invoice queries
Passing of invoices
Duty
SIQ and purchase invoices
Ensure month end routines including checking and reporting is consistent with company standards and is produced monthly in a timely manner.
Action other ad hoc duties as required.
**Salary**: Up to ₹100,000.00 per month
