Base Oil Trader/ Buyer

**Key Responsibilities**: - **Procurement & Sourcing**: - Source and procure different grades of base oils from both domestic and international suppliers.Negotiate competitive pricing, favorable terms, and ensure timely delivery of base oils.Develop and manage a robust supplier network to ensure consistent supply. - **Market Analysis**: Stay informed on global base oil market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics.Track geopolitical factors, regulations, and other external influences that could affect base oil prices and availability.Provide market insights and forecasts to senior management. - **Supplier Relationship Management**: Build and maintain strong relationships with key base oil suppliers and traders worldwide.Resolve any issues or disputes that arise during procurement or delivery processes effectively and efficiently.Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring that all terms, pricing, and delivery schedules align with company requirements.Ensure compliance with legal standards and internal procurement policies.Develop long-term agreements with strategic suppliers.Coordinate logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of base oils.Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to meet customer demands without overstocking.Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.Work with the finance team to develop budgets and ensure that procurement activities are within financial parameters.Analyze purchasing patterns and implement cost-saving initiatives.Provide regular reports on market trends, supplier performance, and procurement activities.Track and manage the purchasing performance of base oils against key performance indicators (KPIs).**Qualifications & Experience**: - **Contract Negotiations**: - **Logistics & Inventory Management**: - **Financial Management**: - **Reporting**: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in base oil procurement, trading, or a related role. - Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships in a global market. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and make strategic decisions. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. - Fluency in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus). **Understanding of Base Oil Grades**: - **Group I Base Oils (Mineral Oils)**: - Applications: Automotive lubricants, industrial lubricants, and transformer oils. - **Group II Base Oils (Hydrotreated Oils)**: - Characteristics: Higher viscosity index, lower sulfur content, and better oxidative stability. - Applications: Automotive engine oils, hydraulic oils, and oils requiring enhanced performance. - **Group III Base Oils (Synthetic Oils)**: - Characteristics: Highly refined with a very high viscosity index, low volatility, and superior oxidative stability. Often marketed as "synthetic" oils. - Applications: High-performance automotive engine oils, premium lubricants, and gear oils. - **Group IV Base Oils (Fully Synthetic Oils)**: - Characteristics: Produced through chemical synthesis (e.g., PAOs), offering excellent performance in extreme temperatures and superior stability. - Applications: Premium synthetic lubricants for high-performance and extreme conditions. - **Group V Base Oils (Other Synthetics)**: - Characteristics: Includes esters, polyalkylene glycols (PAGs), and other specialty base oils with unique properties. - Applications: Specialty lubricants, biodegradable oils, greases, and hydraulic fluids. **Desirable Skills**: - Familiarity with ISO standards and industry regulations related to base oils. - Knowledge of advanced procurement tools and software for efficient sourcing and inventory management. - Strong financial acumen to manage budgets and analyze cost-saving opportunities. - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment **Experience**: - total work: 1 year (preferred)
