**Knowledge of traditional South Indian cooking techniques and recipes**. Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Excellent knife skills and ability to handle kitchen equipment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of vegetarian South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries, and more, adhering to authentic recipes and flavors.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and develop new dishes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional recipes.
- Ensure high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation, meeting the expectations of our discerning customers.
- Manage food inventory and stock to minimize wastage and maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following hygiene and safety standards.
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff, ensuring consistent cooking techniques and adherence to recipes.
- Monitor and manage kitchen equipment to ensure they are in good working condition; report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
**Qualifications**:
- Hail from Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada & Shimoga Districts of Karnataka
- Proven experience as a South Indian Cook or relevant culinary role, with a strong portfolio of South Indian dishes.
- In-depth knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to balance authenticity with creativity to deliver unique flavors.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
