**Job Title: Indian Sweet Master (Halwai)**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Sweet Preparation**:
- Prepare a wide range of Indian sweets, including but not limited to laddus, barfis, pedas, jalebi, rasgulla, gulab jamun, and other traditional items.
- Use appropriate techniques for frying, boiling, kneading, shaping, and garnishing sweets.
- Ensure the proper balance of flavors, textures, and presentation.
- **Ingredient Management**:
- Source and manage ingredients such as sugar, milk, ghee, khoya, and spices.
- Maintain ingredient freshness and manage stock levels.
- **Quality Control**:
- Ensure that all sweets meet high standards of hygiene, taste, and presentation.
- Maintain consistency in product quality and portion sizes.
- **Hygiene and Cleanliness**:
- Follow and enforce health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including utensils and equipment.
- **Innovation and Menu Development**:
- Create new sweet recipes or variations on traditional recipes as required.
- Contribute to seasonal or festive menu development.
- **Team Coordination**:
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff or helpers in the preparation of sweets.
- Work in coordination with chefs and kitchen teams to meet the production requirements.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in making traditional Indian sweets.
- **Knowledge**: In-depth knowledge of ingredients and preparation methods for different types of sweets from various regions of India.
- **Skills**:
- Expertise in using specific kitchen tools and equipment for sweet-making.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
- **Education**: No formal education required, but culinary certifications or specialized sweet-making training is a plus.
**Personal Attributes**:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Passion for maintaining and promoting Indian culinary traditions.
- Ability to innovate while staying true to authentic flavors.
**Work Conditions**:
- Full-time, typically in a commercial kitchen or confectionery.
- May require early morning or late-night shifts, especially during festive seasons.
