IT Support Assistant

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Technical Support**:
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Assist with user account management (e.g., password resets, account creation/deletion).
- **Hardware & Software Management**:
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT equipment.
- Assist with inventory management of IT assets.
- Prepare and deploy new workstations for employees.
- **Network & Connectivity**:
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting (e.g., Wi-Fi connectivity, basic LAN issues).
- Ensure network printers and other peripherals are functioning correctly.
- **Documentation & Training**:
- Maintain accurate records of IT support requests, resolutions, and configurations in the helpdesk system.
- Create and update technical documentation (e.g., user guides, troubleshooting steps).
- **Security & Compliance**:
- Adhere to IT security policies and procedures.
- Assist with basic security tasks, such as virus scanning and patch management.
- **General IT Support**:
- Assist with special IT projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to improve overall IT service delivery.
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified Fundamentals) are a strong plus.
- **Experience**:
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Freshdesk, ServiceNow) is desirable.
- **Skills**:
- **Troubleshooting**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- **Communication**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- **Customer Service**: A customer-focused approach with patience and empathy.
- **Organizational Skills**: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- **Teamwork**: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- **Learning Agility**: Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing IT landscapes.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to 25 lbs) occasionally.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
**Working Conditions**:
- Typically an office environment.
- May require occasional on-call support or after-hours work depending on business needs.
