What is the Internal Wholesaler in Marketing Administration group responsible for?

An internal wholesaler is a single point contact for both sales & service requirements of the distributors in that territory. Continuous enhancement of knowledge levels and coming up with new ideas to drive territory business is important for success. The individual needs to be self-driven and motivated. The role requires regular engagement with various departments. Apart from other departments, a routine engagement with cluster head, external wholesalers and service team of the territory is absolutely required to ensure a good teamwork and drive business efficiently.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Internal Wholesaler?

Internal wholesalers perform tasks designed to develop and grow business relationships with the goal of expanding markets and increasing sales. The way of communication and engagement is through calls, video conferences, quarterly field visits and virtual knowledge sessions. While a database is provided, an IWS is responsible for expanding the same by identifying opportunities of empanelling potential distributors, create more national distributor contact points.

Maintain & Grow Advisor Relationships
- Conduct relationship-building and consultive sales calls through telephone with distributors and develop and implement sales strategies.
- Creating and maintaining a database of current and potential distributors.
- Explaining and demonstrating features of our range of products and keep distributors updated with any new digital enhancements.
- Staying well-informed about the market and competing products and services.
- Resolve queries/ complains of distributors by engaging with other departments, for example service team of the territory.
- Add value to the distributors, both IMFDs and National Distributors, by conducting regular virtual engagement activities apart from regular mandated calls.
- Revamping the database on a quarterly basis by analysing the business data of distributors and ensuring the right counters are being engaged for driving business.
- Create product pitch sheets to cross sell FTI products and increase sales during specific campaigns. Achieve defined targets and market share.
- Empanelling potential distributors and add them to the database.
- Field trips: To travel and meet distributors in these locations twice in a year.

Planning, Adhering to Sales Efficiency Process & Territory Management
- Ensuring quality in capturing the calls and activities done via Talisma CRM solution to build better client engagement and increase productivity.
- Work closely with the cluster head and other external wholesalers to manage the territory and drive business.
- Designing a road map to achieve assigned targets and work closely with the cluster head on achieving the same.
- Identify the counters which need more engagements than just regular calls and engage the senior leaders for virtual sessions with such counters as and when required.
- Work closely with external wholesaler counterparts for engagements at the branch levels, for example, inviting distributors from non-branch locations when senior managements or portfolio management team travels to the branch locations.
- Formulate plans and strategies to not just drive macro level business but also granular levels targets, for example, Gross sale target is a macro target but target business bifurcation from IMFDs and National distributors needs granular level business strategy.
- Work with internal teams towards coverage of their market. Handle inbound calls relating to distributor queries with limited supervision.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically has 1- 4 years related experience in BFSI.
- Proficiency in the language according to the required territory - Punjabi.
- Adept at using Microsoft office, prepare and deliver power point presentation.
- Willing to work out of Hyderabad location.
