Receiving calls from patients and discussing symptoms to provide guidance if they need to seek medical care
- Triaging incoming patients to ensure staff uses resources efficiently to provide the most help to patients
- Advising patients on whether they need to ask about escalating treatment for a condition based on their symptoms and response to any existing treatment plans
- Coordinating with hospital staff to understand a patient's condition and options
- Meeting with patients upon their arrival at a hospital and checking them in
- Checking on the insurance coverage for patients and helping them to find solutions within their coverage when possible
- Providing patients or their families with informational materials about conditions, tests or treatment plans relevant to a patient's condition
- Explaining a patient's treatment options in basic terms and checking that the patient or guardian fully understands each option available to them
- Evaluating the results of medical treatments with members of the hospital staff and monitoring the health of a patient throughout their care
- Ensuring treatment for patients remains within established hospital policies to protect hospital staff and provide safe care for the patient
- Maintaining a modern understanding of medical terminology and practices used within the hospital through further education.
- A team player with very good inter personal abilities and to provide a bridge between patient and doctor
