**Key Responsibilities of a Shipment Executive**:
- **Shipment Coordination**: Managing the entire shipping process, from arranging transportation to ensuring timely delivery. This includes working with internal teams (e.g., sales, warehouse) and external partners (e.g., shipping carriers, freight forwarders).
- **Order Processing**: Reviewing and processing shipping orders, ensuring all necessary paperwork is in place, such as invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels.
- **Logistics Management**: Coordinating with logistics providers (airlines, shipping companies, trucking companies) to ensure that shipments are picked up, transported, and delivered according to the schedule.
- **Tracking Shipments**: Monitoring and tracking the progress of shipments to ensure they are delivered on time. Providing updates to customers and resolving any issues that may arise during transit.
- **Documentation and Compliance**: Ensuring that all shipping documentation is accurate and complete. This includes customs clearance, import/export permits, and compliance with local and international shipping regulations.
- **Customer Interaction**: Communicating with customers regarding their shipments, addressing any concerns, and providing tracking information. Sometimes the role also involves dealing with any delivery delays or issues.
- **Cost Management**: Managing the budget and controlling shipping costs by negotiating rates with carriers, selecting the best shipping methods, and optimizing routes.
- **Inventory Management**: Working closely with warehouse teams to ensure that goods are properly packed, labelled, and prepared for shipping, and ensuring inventory levels are accurate.
- **Problem Resolution**: Handling any shipment delays, damages, lost goods, or other issues that may arise during the shipping process and working with customers and carriers to resolve them.
Skills Required:
- **Knowledge of logistics and shipping processes**: Understanding of domestic and international shipping methods, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and documentation.
- **Attention to detail**: Accuracy in preparing documents and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- **Problem-solving abilities**: Resolving issues like shipment delays, damaged goods, or customer complaints.
- **Communication skills**: Effective interaction with internal teams, customers, and third-party logistics providers.
- **Time management**: Managing tight deadlines and ensuring shipments are on schedule.
- **Negotiation skills**: Working with vendors and carriers to get the best rates and services.
Education and Experience:
- A **Bachelor's degree** in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is often required.
- **Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management** is beneficial for this role.
Tools and Software:
- Shipment executives may use software like **ERP** **Prime, TMS (Transport Management Systems), or other logistics platforms** to streamline operations and track shipments.
This role is essential for ensuring that shipments are handled efficiently, that goods are delivered on time, and that customers are satisfied with the service. It's a key position in industries such as e-commerce, manufacturing, retail, and import/export businesses.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
