**The Role**:

- To draft, review and send spot and term sales & purchase contracts in close liaison with Commercial Advisors ensuring that the contracts accurately reflect the terms agreed by Traders as recorded in the deal capture system.
- Review and draft responses and counters to non-standard counterparty contracts which may require directly seeking advice from the Trader, Commercial Operator and the Commercial Advisor.
- To draft all deal/contract amendments in a timely manner.
- Ensure all trades are properly documented and acknowledged/classified appropriately in a timely fashion.
- To target agreed KPI performance goals for contract drafting, review and dispatch.
- Support the Commercial Advisors in providing pre and post deal support to the business.
- Responsibility for maintaining the complete electronic deal record for all trades including contracts, related documents and contract amendments.
- Support Commercial Advisors in maintaining the contract and clause database as well as creating fit for purpose contracts template in consultation with Commercial Advisors.
- Assist in training and supporting of new joiners to the Contracts team.
- Maintain compliance with local implementation policies, Shell’s manual of authorities and SOX controls.
- Incorporate Shell’s five behavioral imperatives into daily work ethic (external focus, commercial mindset, delivery, speed and simplicity)
- Proactively advise all Shell stakeholders on improvements creating end to end value for Shell.

- The Trading & Supply Contracts organisation are a dedicated, independent and professional group of commercial staff enabling and supporting commercial teams in value generation and deal making. The Contracts organization is specifically responsible for the management of the contractual process with accountability for compliance with policy for verification and acknowledgement of physical contracts, a core and critical element of the company’s control framework. This extends from pre-deal execution to post-deal contractual activities, providing commercial and contractual advice on drafting and reviewing of spot and term contracts, related storage contracts, negotiation with external parties and ad hoc problem solving as they relate to the performance of the bilateral agreement.

Skills Required:

- Must have minimum 3+ years of proven experience in energy/commodity trading, shipping environment or financial institutions in a legal/paralegal or contract drafting and reviewing role.
- Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail with good draft making skills.
- Capable of critically reviewing contracts to identify issues and exposures and to draft constructive responses to mitigate or remove such exposures.
- Must have a flexible approach and be commercially orientated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have the ability to prioritize work load and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Must have good communication skills, capable of engaging with Commercial Advisors, Traders, Commercial Operators and other stakeholders to ensure all contract are accurate and fit for purpose.
- Must be fluent in English (written & verbal).
