**Job Summary**:
The Medical Equipment Assistant Trainer is responsible for delivering hands-on and theoretical training sessions to equip trainees with the necessary skills to handle, maintain, and troubleshoot various types of medical equipment. The role involves curriculum development, preparing training materials, and ensuring that trainees are proficient in operating, calibrating, and maintaining medical devices. This position aims to empower trainees with the technical knowledge and practical experience required to support healthcare professionals by efficiently managing medical equipment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Training Delivery**: Conduct structured training sessions on various medical equipment, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring devices, following the training curriculum and safety protocols.
- **Curriculum Development**: Collaborate with the training team to develop and update training modules, manuals, and assessments for different types of medical equipment.
- **Hands-on Practice**: Facilitate practical, hands-on sessions where trainees can practice using and troubleshooting medical devices, ensuring adherence to safety and operational guidelines.
- **Evaluation and Feedback**: Assess trainees' progress and competency through written and practical evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- **Maintenance Demonstration**: Demonstrate standard procedures for routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of equipment to ensure trainees understand preventive maintenance measures.
- **Health & Safety**: Ensure that training sessions comply with health and safety standards, and teach proper handling and disposal techniques of bio-hazardous materials related to equipment use.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and assessments for each training session and trainee.
- **Support & Guidance**: Provide ongoing support and guidance to trainees during the program and address any technical or practical challenges they encounter with the equipment.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- **Education**: Graduate in Biomedical Engineering/ Biomedical Instrumentation/biotechnology/biochemical engineering or any other degree in Biology.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with medical equipment in a healthcare setting or as a biomedical technician.
- **Technical Knowledge**: Proficient in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a range of medical devices.
- **Communication Skills**: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, understandable manner.
- **Training Experience**: Prior experience in training or teaching is a plus, along with the ability to engage and motivate trainees.
- **Attention to Detail**: High attention to detail, especially concerning health, safety, and operational procedures.
- **Problem-Solving**: Strong problem-solving skills to assist trainees with equipment issues and troubleshooting.
**Work Environment**:
This role typically involves working in a classroom and lab environment, with occasional time spent in healthcare settings for on-site training. The position may require standing for extended periods and handling equipment that may be heavy or complex. Adherence to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines is mandatory.
