**Core responsibilities**
- **Baking and preparation**: Prepare and bake a wide variety of goods such as breads, cakes, cookies, and pastries.
- **Recipe creation**: Develop new recipes and improve existing ones to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
- **Decoration and presentation**: Decorate and present baked goods to meet high-quality standards and customer expectations.
- **Inventory and ordering**: Monitor stock levels, order ingredients and supplies, and manage equipment.
- **Quality control**: Ensure all products meet consistent standards for taste, texture, and appearance.
- **Sanitation and safety**: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, follow strict food safety and sanitation guidelines, and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
- **Team and kitchen collaboration**: Work with other kitchen staff, and in some cases, train and supervise junior staff.
- **Customer interaction**: Discuss custom orders with customers for special occasions.

- **Technical knowledge**: Expertise in baking techniques, dough hydration, sugar crystallization, and using baking equipment.
- **Creativity**: The ability to conceptualize unique flavors and design visually appealing desserts.
