As an Indian Chef, you will be responsible for creating authentic Indian dishes that meet our high standards of quality and taste. Your primary duties will include:
- **Menu Development**: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative Indian menus that appeal to our diverse clientele while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- **Food Preparation**: Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including but not limited to curries, tandoori specialties, biryanis, and vegetarian options, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- **Ingredient Sourcing**: Source high-quality ingredients, spices, and seasonings for Indian cuisine, maintaining relationships with trusted suppliers and ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- **Kitchen Management**: Oversee kitchen operations, including stock management, food ordering, and kitchen hygiene practices, to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- **Training and Supervision**: Train and supervise kitchen staff in the preparation and cooking of Indian dishes, providing guidance on techniques, recipes, and presentation standards.
- **Quality Control**: Conduct regular taste tests and inspections to maintain the quality and authenticity of Indian dishes, making adjustments as necessary to meet customer expectations.
- **Customer Engagement**: Interact with customers to understand their preferences and dietary requirements, providing recommendations and accommodating special requests to enhance their dining experience.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel, with a strong portfolio of Indian dishes.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine, cooking techniques, and regional variations.
- Proficiency in preparing a wide range of Indian dishes, including traditional recipes and contemporary interpretations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Culinary certification or degree from a recognized institution preferred.
