**Job Summary**: The position holder is accountable and responsible for planning, directing and evaluating nursing activities of the respective floors, including implementation of the department's goals, standards for nursing practice and the management and development of nursing personnel. She/he provides leadership and direction in all nursing staff in their respective floors.

Job Duties

1.Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions.

2.Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

3.Provides direct patient cares, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

4.Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.

5.Assists attending physicians and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.

6.Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.

7.Adjusts staffing to meet needs and to provide adequate coverage of unit.

8.Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur.

9.Ensures accurate maintenance of patients’ medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information.

10.Maintains required unit records, reports, and statistics for administrative purposes and budget preparation.

11.Responds to code calls and directs codes when no physician is available.

12.Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.

13.Participate in the policy decisions that affect the patient care area.

14.Supervise and develop the nursing supervisor and senior staff nurses.

15.Ensure that performance appraisal is done at different levels and consolidate the feedback is obtain about all the level of nurses.

16.Ensure that the complete orientation program is conducted for all new nursing personal.

17.Participate in the assessment of learning needs and provide opportunities for staff development.

18.Attend to patient complaints unresolved at lower levels

19.Ensure the clinical competency of each nurse prior to assignment of independent patient care activities.

20.To contribute to quality by chairing and participating in the various committees of the hospital

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
