**How you will contribute at Janes**:

- Write high-quality news, analysis, and features about military land forces, systems, and technologies across the Asia-Pacific.
- Develop, pitch, and execute strong ideas for stories and analysis.
- Source and develop data-driven stories and analysis.
- Attend defence exhibitions and conferences as a news reporter and Janes ambassador.
- Develop and maintain a network of key regional contacts.

**The ideal skills and experience for this role**:

- Experience as a reporter is essential, and a background or strong interest in Asia-Pacific military affairs is a distinct advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English are essential, along with the ability to sharply edit and peer review copy.
- Strong news sense and judgment, with the ability to independently generate story ideas and deliver them with mínimal oversight.
- Ability to write accurate and unbiased copy concisely and quickly.
- Proven record of meeting newsroom deadlines.
- A strong work ethic, team spirit, and organisational skills.
