**About the Team**:
The Legal function at ByteDance India comprises a lean team of high caliber individuals. The mission of this team is to help ensure growth of ByteDance business in the South Asia and Middle East region. The team also supports cross functional collaboration in areas such as policy, corporate governance, privacy and finance. As a closely knit team, we aim to develop individual members into general corporate and specialized legal expertise across this region such as this role covering employment/labour law matters across South Asia region.

This is a 12 months fixed term contract role, and it will be based in Gurgaon.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide legal advice to human resources and other business units concerning a broad range of labour and employment issues
- Drafting, reviewing employment related policies procedures, employment agreements letters employee communications
- Develop employment policies and procedures on a regular basis and recommend necessary changes as appropriate
- Handling/and or advisory on internal employee investigations, including disciplinary grievance and performance matters
- Advising on structuring employee benefits and incentives in line with the applicable laws and prevailing best practices and industry standards to ensure good governance
- Drive legal and compliance strategy on labour law aspects, along with global entities and advise
- Developing new HR documentation templates in line with global standards and alignments
- Advise on disciplinary matters, identify and support specific training/workshops for cross functional teams.
- Law Degree in India from a reputed university.
- Relevant experience of 3 years in Employment/labour laws;
- Excellent analytical and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Ability to multitask, demonstrate sound judgement, time critical deadlines and excel in team work
- Excellent research and problem solving skills
- Experience in technology, telecom, and/or media firms would be an advantage
