**Job Title**: Fashion Designer / Merchandiser - Ethnic Wear

**Location**: Ahmedabad, Gujarat

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Design & Development**:

- Design and develop ethnic wear collections (sarees, lehengas, kurtis, Indo-western, etc.) based on current trends, seasonal forecasts, and brand identity.
- Create mood boards, color palettes, and detailed tech packs.
- **Vendor Coordination**:

- Identify and liaise with local and outstation **vendors, weavers, artisans, and manufacturers**.
- Obtain samples, price quotes, and manage production timelines.
- Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to design specs.
- **Merchandising & Sourcing**:

- Source raw materials including fabrics, trims, embroidery work, and accessories from trusted suppliers.
- Maintain costing sheets and negotiate competitive pricing for mass production.
- **Mass Production Management**:

- Oversee the transition from sampling to bulk production.
- Track production status, troubleshoot delays, and ensure on-time delivery.
- **Market Research**:

- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings in ethnic fashion.
- Visit exhibitions, fabric markets, and production units as needed.
- **Inventory & Documentation**:

- Maintain production records, vendor databases, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with internal departments like sales and logistics.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree/diploma in **Fashion Design, Textile Design**, or related field.
- 1+ years of experience in **ethnic wear** designing or merchandising.
- Strong vendor network in **Ahmedabad and surrounding areas**.
- Good knowledge of Indian têxtiles, embroidery techniques, and ethnic silhouettes.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or other design tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

**Preferred**:

- Fluency in **Gujarati, Hindi, and English**.
- Experience in **mass production handling** for online or retail ethnic brands.
- Ability to travel for vendor visits, fairs, or exhibitions.

**Salary**: Based on experience

**Work Hours**: 5.5 days a week
**Location**: On-site - Ahmedabad

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
