**Second-Class Boiler Operator Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate and maintain steam and hot water boilers as per operational guidelines.
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to boilers and auxiliary equipment.
- Inspect boiler systems regularly to identify potential issues and report malfunctions to supervisors.
- Maintain logs and records of operations, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in energy conservation efforts by monitoring and optimizing boiler operations.
- Coordinate with other team members for smooth operations and emergency preparedness.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- **Certification**: Valid Second-Class Boiler Operator certification.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years of experience in boiler operations or a related role.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of boiler systems, mechanical systems, and control systems.
- **Skills**:

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing boiler-related issues.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and monitoring automated systems.

**Work Environment and Physical Requirements**
- Ability to work in environments with high temperatures, loud noises, and confined spaces.
- Physically fit to lift and move heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
